NC30 DOESN'T REV OUT CLEANLY
I am having some issues with my track bike ... It revs clean around the twisty bits and reacts well to throttle out of the bends but then seems to miss and bog down when I go full throttle and wind it out through the straights...I would say there is a flat spot as it will pick eventually up & rev into the red line!
I am pretty new to the NC30 and hope that someone out there will recognise this issue ... The carbs have all the correct parts fitted front to back ... It is really frustrating as I do all the hard work in the corners just to be passed again on the straights !

Hi mate, it sounds like the typical symptoms of a previous owner stuffing around with the airbox/induction system, common issue but easy to fix.
Does it use the standard airbox, airbox snorkel and rubber flap (this sits in front of the airbox)? What sort of air filter are you using?
There's parts diagrams here which might help: http://www.akhara.com/nc30/nc30parts/index.htm

That's your problem.h2o-pro wrote:No filter ( the filter unit is in there but the paper element has been cut away just leaving the fine mesh)
Fit a genuine honda filter and (if necessary) rejet to suit and it should be much better. You can buy genuine air filters mail order from RB's in NSW: http://www.rbimports.com.au/
It sounds as though you've checked the carbs, do you know what sized main jets it has?

Re: NC30 DOESN'T REV OUT CLEANLY
... I have followed your carby guide...have 120 front & 122 rear,#35 pilots, std needles +1mm shim & 2.5mm hole to the sliders...tubes & needles in the correct carbs ... It has a full exh. system, not too sure what make but there is a short (cut down) vengeance muffler & the rear pipes are side by side rather than front to back !
TOO MUCH info !!
Does the rubber flap matter much ?

Re: NC30 DOESN'T REV OUT CLEANLY
The setup and jetting sounds spot on to sling a standard filter in and it should perform well.
Stick a new filter in and see how it goes, can always get hold of a rubber flap later if you feel the need.
Yes and no, It's more important on a road bike in my opinion. Running without it can cause some hesitation and bogging down like you describe, but less obvious on a track bike that spends most of its time at wide open throttle.h2o-pro wrote:Does the rubber flap matter much ?
