Hi Guys
Im based in Aus and I picked up a 1992 VFR NC30 the other day. It had a couple of owners before me but I presume it was brought here directly from Japan. Ive heard that they are restricted to 180kmh or something and ive also heard its not too hard to derestrict them. Ive read a heap of stuff on the net about how the restriction works but alot of people are saying different stuff that dont actually own one. Ive heard theres a sensor in the speedo, ive also heard theres washer type devices that sit over the inlets to restrict intake etc........My question is, what is the correct answer? and has anyone actually successfully derestricted a VFR400? And how do you do it?
Any help is much appreciated

Re: VFR400 Derestriction
Howdo...and welcome.
This is a common thread - have a search as there are multiple ways to skin a cat.
180 kmh restriction cuts spark to 2 cylinders and this is what you are needing to sort out.
the washers are a power restriction and you'll probably not have them

That's a uk learner (power) restriction thing, they won't be on your bike.james91 wrote:ive also heard theres washer type devices that sit over the inlets to restrict intake etc
These bikes are simple to derestrict, the method you choose is up to you!
