Is the engine, more specifically the pistons, in the 1987 fzr 400 different in any way to the 1987 fz400r? If not will the piston ring set for a fzr 400 work on the fz? The PART NUMBER - 1WG-11610-00-00. Thank you in advance bighug :plus:

i've got a couple of sets of 3en1 pistons taken from engines that had damaged cases, not problems with the bores etc. I can measure them up if you know what you need, may be willing to part with a set!

The 87 FZR400R is the SP - I read somewhere the pistons are different from the Genesis with longer rods, I don't know how accurate that info is though.
The 88 + 89 are the 3EN models,

If you're doing this up for you to ride then I'd be looking for another engine the money for rings will buy you that. Even if it's a show bike the engine number is still 1WG so nobody will mark you down on it.
