Mine ticked from when I bought it until I did the valve clearances this winter, but I think DM will have done that already.

are your exhaust pipes tight? this can sound like ticking if they're not

I haven't had chance to start it up yet but upon inspection it looks like mark was right with it being a loose choke arm when the choke is off.

like a swiss watch ......ticks ....i do believe these bikes suffer bottom end faliure if not looked after ....regular oil changes ....leaving petrol on ...via hrc mod is just going to fill the engine with fuel which is going to upset your running also fuck the whole job right up the swanney look after it and change the oil every 3000 miles might be expensive ......but how much is a re build gonna cost on an obsolete classic honda that the parts are like gold dust on
