NC35 Front Brake Line Routing

Post by RoninZX-10R » Mon Feb 13, 2012 10:07 pm

Hi guys,
Just a quick question about the routing of the front brake lines.

I've bought a set of lines (the "race" kit with 2 full length lines both running from the master cylinder) from HEL and am trying to work out whether the lines are designed to run in front or behind the fork legs???

Cheers, thanks for your help.

I always run them behind the fork leg as do most peeps it seems. They look better.

But there must be a good reason why most pukka racebikes (including motogp) run them in front of the forks.... less air pressure/tension on them?

Cheers, thanks Cammo. The main reason I was asking was because the line going to the LHS caliper seems to be a bit too long, but maybe the line is meant to be connected up underneath the lower triple clamp taking up some of the extra slack??

Does your line run straight from the master cylinder to the caliper without being secured anywhere?

Yeah mine do. I usually cable tie them together at a point which stops them rubbing on the guard or forks (twisting the line around can get them in a good position).
