I agree with DM, unless dyno testing is done as suggested above to rule out other mods causing differences then this argument will keep going on. But I also think that surely HRC wouldn't go to all that trouble to develop something as bulky and costly as this if the same thing could be done with a 10p resistor

I fully agree with you, i have one fitted to my bike and would never remove it for that reason. If people can wait i will happily run mine up once the engine has been fitted to see what they actually do.Yakama wrote:I agree with DM, unless dyno testing is done as suggested above to rule out other mods causing differences then this argument will keep going on. Re: is this real or just bs?
Of course they would..if they knew they had a market for it. The box, IMO, is only to allow you to remove the speedo for racing.
nothing to do with 180kmh, all to do with limp mode.
Box was an easy fit, looks pukka and worked. Speedo was junked as you were racing and we all know that an HRC resistor in a box makes more arse dyno power...

It's hard to tell in that pic, but it looks like the orange/blue speed cut wire is just spliced into a positive wire to bypass the limp mode when the speedo is removed.....

Re: is this real or just bs?
doesn't look like the one i cut open :S
It's also an MC21 SP unit.
i'll get my brother to photo it, shoudl still be knocking around.
i'd have thought the NC30 one would be the same but what I cut open had a circuit board in it *confused now*
