You could try voltage tests if you have the means and know how...... either way I think you need a new battery to start with then do the tests.

i can do voltage tests tomorrow. i will check what the alternators condition is. and cmon iDemonix a litle help here. had this bike for nearly 4 months and not properly ridden it. i am dying here i MUST ride this so im wanting the quickest help i can get...which is to open a thread, on everything that i have no idea how to fix on...

i dont see how the bike can loose all its voltage when the bike is actually running....dont you think its the alternator rather than the battery which is at fault? :\

Jump starting a bike from a car is never a good idea because it forces too much current into the bikes electrical system (or something like that? It's better to leave to cars engine off when jump starting a bike), but it sounds like your battery would be cactus by now.

While you're doing a voltage check of the battery I'd be also checking the alternator and the regulator/rectifier (the R/R is normally the cause of my problems when the bike doesn't want to play ball and start when I want it to).

hmmmm someone on yahoo answers says that the bikes "idle state" ie. 1300rpm isnt high enough to get the alternator to charge and sustain the battery hence why it cut off while it was running....i really REALLY hope this is the case....

That's rubbish. If you read the Haynes manual it should idle at 1300 +/- 100rpm. If your battery is knackered, the charging system may well be trying to charge it as it should, but it won't hold the charge. The only way to narrow down the problem is to do some checks with a multimeter. Failing that, the battery is a good place to start arbitrarily replacing stuff.

yes but im sure that the alternator doesnt actullay start charing unless you use the bike i.e +4k rpm and then it would start to generate voltage and then to the battery. thats what he was trying to tell me. i started reading alot about alternators after he told me that and they all seem to operate on higher rpm's than normal idle rpm on bikes that are designed for high rpm. i.e the vfr 400. so im guessing it jsut needs to be ridden around for about 30 mins to get the battery charged.. i will try it tomorrow see how it goes.

If you have H4 bulbs instead of H4R bulbs, it will use more power on idle whilst the low beams are on. That's what the CBR250 did, and it couldn't keep up with the higher wattage and would slowly drain the battery.

Obviously you should have taken it for a ride. Why on earth would you turn it on and just leave it running for half an hour? You said you want to ride it, then you get the opportunity and you appear to be trying to find more problems with the bike instead of riding it.
