Mark - the point of doing this is that because the HRC bellmouth incorporates the necessary restrictions for the auxiliary air intakes it should solve the open airbox, poor running issues...

The bellmouths are ordered and paid for, I should have the prototypes to sign off in a couple of weeks.

I`ll add them to my catalogue and put a post on here as soon as they are in stock

Haha - Mine are already running pretty well! I'm just looking to ditch the crappy cut down stock stacks and bolt restricted air intakes.

Inded, I am sure they are going to be great. I was just poking fun at the road riding guys who are going to be running open airbox setup for what will be a gain at WOT full attack mode. I am sure another 3 or 4hp at 13k revs is going to benefit our friends on their commute or trip to college

I may well get another race bike built in the future and would be all over the HRC kits. it is superb that you are making these Rick. Top man.

I am not planning to run an open airbox any time soon but things like this need to be supported, its part of what makes our bikes so great.

That said, am I right in thinking that you dont need to run an open airbox to fit these? Intake length is a variable in tuning. In general a longer tract gives better torque curve but slightly less max power. I would be interested to know if they could be used to give a little boost to an airbox system without going the whole route of open airbox.

They should only be used as part of the whole hrc open race carb setup.

Using them for anything else will turn Mark's comments into gospel!

Being shorter they should move peak power up slightly higher in the rev range, BUT they also shroud the air jet which will throw all of your jetting out the window if you're running an airbox. If you must have shorter stacks you could just cut the standard velocity stacks down, probably not worth the effort though.

These are the final solution to the HRC kit that Rick produces - fit it all, or don't bother.

In a former life of NC fettling..I would have fitted the lot.
