Cadwell Park

Nothing more to say really, if it's been organised it'll be here.

Cadwell Park

Post by LUCAS » Thu Sep 22, 2011 12:23 am

Rode Cadwell Park last week for the first ever time. Did my first trackday ever in August on my NC35 and loved it so much i have converted my NC29 to a full time track bike.

The video was from the 2nd or 3rd session. I picked on an R1 and showed that the latest 1000 bike isn't the be all and end all to having some brilliant fun

Best thing was some guy coming over at the end of the day and saying "thats bloody fast for a 600!" When i told him it was a 400 he burst out laughing and said he couldn't wait to tell his mates (who were on 1000's) that they had been thrashed by a 400 :P

By the 7th session of the day i was happy with my lines finally. Only thing that bugged me was the standard gearing. I was running into the limiter in areas about 300 yards before corners. It wasn't worth changing up as i was changing straight back down and unsettling the bike - very evident in one scene lol

Definitely far less worry doing it on a trackday bike. I have a few bikes on the road but last month on my RVF i was always thinking about it being my best road bike etc. I was riding my CBR similar to that but was slightly more relaxed if it was gone down the track.

The guy at the beginning turned up on his own. Was about a 300+ mile round trip for him and he binned it i think 2nd lap of the 3rd session  I put that scene in slow motion into the video for his memories lol. He was ok and didn't do too much damage to his bike... fairing plus bend the pipe back along with a front master cylinder reservoir.

One guy who had rode there on his ZX6-R to the trackday binned it good and proper across the Gooseneck putting a hole into his cases and putting oil down and across the track. Long way to push his bike back :( Hopefully he found someone to help. Was going in the wrong direction to me which was a shame as i had room in the van

Awesome video mate. Even the Mrs thought it was good so you have an admirer there.
