It is usually the heat out from the motor. They are bloody hot bikes. Nice in winter...boil your inner thigh in summer..

as mark said its normal, the reg rec, the tight engine in the frame and no ambient air to cool the rear cylinders = Great Balls of FIRE! hot bollocks basically :D

It's normal. I'm infertile because of my NC.

I dont' think it's soo much to do with ambient air.. there water-cooled and have no fins so the air wouldn't help much.

It's more to do with it being a V4.

The rear-bank sits right below where the family jewels sit.

On an I4 all 4 exhaust headers go out the front and usually down under the engine.. fresh air also helps remove heat from the pipes.

On the V4 you have two cylinders whose pipes come out in a funny angle and down by your legs.. this heats the frame up and your legs!

The NC24 doesn't have so much of a problem as the exhaust is routed in a different way to a collector box.

Still all get toasty tho ;)

I do believe the frame is important to heat loss, like a second air cooled radiator. This is why some people have had over heating problems with a powder coated frame. But it might explain why its getting hot around the seat area.
