Re: How to Video: Replace Clutch Plates (NC30)
Man_Named_Dave - they're different. I bought a pattern part from eBay too called a "clutch and swingarm removal tool" but it only fits the clutch. Be careful though as they're pretty shit material, I managed to bend one of the arms on mine within minutes.
Can't remember if I ever said thanks for this video - but just in case I didn't - THANK YOU. This video was absolutely invaluable when I did my clutch, biggest thing I've ever done on a bike and your way was 10x easier than the Haynes book of lies which insisted you remove the starter clutch at the same time and so on.
I had the laptop close by with your video on the screen for hours!
Thanks again,
Dan

Cheers, Demonix! I'll look for an original or quality CNC one.

Re: How to Video: Replace Clutch Plates (NC30)
Thanks for the video !
It made my clutch fitting this afternoon much more enjoyable :-)
The only thing I would add, in the hope that it might be useful to someone, is that I think its worth taking off the Sporket Cover on the otherside of the engine and greasing the needle bearings and plunger on the release mechanism I also buffed a couple of burrs out of the clutch rod at the same time.
Haynes manual has a couple of photo's of the above.
Thanks again!
Jonny

Yip clutch plates, brake caliper seals and fork seals. Now its up to someone else to do the others! Valve clearances, etc

Is it safe to file down the edge of the clutch basket? Won't cause any problems or anything? I'm going to have to do it if I find the notches on my basket when I fix the clutch.

My new friction plates have one tab painted blue. Are they supposed to line up with something on the clutch basket?
