I thought you said the pipe was warm/hot, but not as much as the other 3.

If it is running cool, then that needs sorting out first, which takes me back to carb.

The pipe gets warm slowly but i can leave my hand on it easy, the others get hot quick and with my hands over the cans the right is warm and smooth where as the left is cold and lumpy.

Im far from an expert and am in all sorts of trouble of my own but the exact same thing was happening me last week and it turned out that the needle coming out of one of the sliders wasnt locked into the slider

There fine mate ive replaced the slides anyhow. Im giving up on it now, tried it again this morning and both pipes got hot, it miss fired less but the revs hung when rev'd and with my hand over the left can it was still cold compared to the right one. Ive got most of the parts needed to HRC my carbs now so im going to strip them completely and start from the gound up with em.

In the meantime if anyone has a set of known running carbs they wanna lend me just to put my mind at rest id be very gratefull

I thought i had this sorted but alas not  during the last clean i managed to mix up the carb inlet/filters, the bit the needle valve sits in and the problem moved to the front right carb, swapped them back and sure enough the problem moved back to no.1 cylinder. Replaced the seat and needle valve from another set of carbs and its a lot better although still not perfect.

It doesnt want to die on tick over anymore but, from cold it takes more than it should to start it(see video), i found i needed to hold the starter button in for longer than usual and it would just catch then proceed to tick over, and the revs are still hanging when rev'd

Its definatly carb related but im fucked if i can find the problem, ive removed, cleaned and reset the carbs more times in the past week than in my entire time of NC ownership i could easily do it blind folded now.

Run it on 3 by disconnecting 1 cylinder at a time.
If the revs do/don't die back OK, you may be able to pin the fault to a particular cylinder.

what are your airscrew opening turns tony? are they all set the same? try turning the suspect cylinder one in some, or even 2 at a time, so front 2 or rear 2. a bit of a long shot but worth a go as i find its rare for 4 carbs to want to use the exact same settings. have you also checked to see if all the chokes are closing properly mate?
