NC30 wheels and Forks on NC24

Post by Deadly_Viper »

Is it possible to put the NC30 front end (forks and wheel) onto the NC24? I appreciate that it might require the steering head to be changed. Also can you put the NC30 rear wheel on the NC24?
Sorry if this question has been asked before but a search doesnt seem to find the right answers.

Short Version.

No.

Longer Version.

Not very easy at all.

Forks are about 60mm too short. NC30 axle would need machining to fit. None of this can be done cheap.

Why not just an NC30 instead of converting an NC24?

Just thought it might be a better option to upgrade my front end rather than spend lots on trying to repair it.
Repair I shall, I have found a guy that will do the work on the bike where other garages wont.

I recently brought a front wheel from someone who broke up his pride & joy NC24.
I didnt ask any questions but it had NC29 forks, brakes & NC23 wheel & he had fitted a Bros 400 rear wheel.

Yes.. this was my original suggestion for people wanting better forks.

NC29 forks are very similar length to NC24 forks but are 41mm!

You can use these and swap to the NC30 lower legs to get the good 4 pot brakes too.

Need to change Yoke / Mudguard / Front wheel.

I prefer the feel of the 16" wheel but the 4 pot brakes are much better

Cool ok, thanks for that
If I end up keeping the bike I might look into this. In the mean time I am just going to stick with the orignals as I am getting very near my budget limit for repairs :|

Standard 37mm forks are ok but you could do with maxton springs (£60)

Calipers let it down but where's the fun if you know your going to stop ;)
