battery fuse keeps blowing
right here we go done the charginging system checks thats fine battery wont charge now goin to the fuse box the last fuse where the battery leads go to is a bit melted and the fuse blown replaced fuse started getting 14.7 v all very good then she blew again is there a easy fix or shall i just replace the whole loom maybe a bit drastic but is this the easy option or am i going about it the wrong way

yes well my mate did i held the petrol tank it was him who said just replace the loom save searching for the fault but i thought one of you guys may have better idea than that
or a couple of pointers he said the charging system is sound

You need to find out what makes the fuse blow .... as in which circuit is causing it. It could be the headlights or indicators / tail light horn.
It sounds like one of those things has a fault or you have a live wire touching the frame

evil's on the boil as usual
best bet is to remove the fuses, then plug em in one at a time start with the main fuse then try all your switches each time you introduce another fuse,
if you find a circuit that blows when plugged in then that's the problem
have you tried testing the main resistor (white block behind the battery box)

well got plenty to play will be going into the shed tomorrow tooled up try and find the little gremlin and if that fails time to pull out the big guns a fresh looms going in sod it wish me luck tali hoh give you the latest as it comes

A fresh loom probably won't help unless it's a broken wire ... this is a wire touching earth or a "thing" having blown.
The "main fuse" is usually on the solenoid so this is an ancillary fuse. I'd check that ressistor or just replace it.

good and bad news stuck that new loom in today 2hrs later started up great check the voltage at he battery sound 13.9 and up went out on the test ride 20mins after a lttle go on the motorway down some aroads cut out as if getting no fuel only reving to1000 ish called rac out waited 1/2hr so as he pulls up i tried to start it fires up as if nothings wrong rac follewed me no problems is this cos the coils hot and packing in then cooling and working again? thought things to good to be true
