Vtec 1, display help
Hey all,
I've recently bought a VTEC 1, and love it. But I don't know how to use the little lcd on it.
For starters, the display is always on, even when the bike isn't. It isn't showing the mileage or anything, just a single digit number in the top row. Is this normal?
Also, by the looks ofthis photo, the display has a clock. Am I right? And how do I change the time? The two little buttons on each side don't seem to do all that much... Maybe I'm not doing something right...
Thanks
Morien

Re: Vtec 1, display help
I am sure some one will be along shortly who knows the correct answer to your questions but I would have thought the figures at the top 15.04 would be the time and the figure opposite the ODO 1496 could be the mileage.
What year is it the low figure just might mean you have a low mileage bike
.
The two little buttons either side are probably what you need to press in order to adjust the clock and/or the trip meter but there could be a method of doing this ie ign on while holding a button (say the one on the left) and pressing the other on and off or vice versa and in order to set it switch the ign back off and then on again.I really dont know but thats the way I would have ago at setting it just a case of playing around with it.
Where are you some one could be close by.

Thanks Superjack44,
the photo isn't of my bike, but it is the same model. Mine doesn't seem to display a clock, only a single digit number that cycles up.
I'll play around like you've said, maybe get lucky.
Thanks

I too have a Spec 1. The display should turn off when you turn the ignition to the "OFF" position. That single digit is not normal. There is some sort of internal problem.
That's about as much as I know. It wouldn't hurt to disassemble the meters just to check it out. They come apart pretty easily.
