You got pics ricky? My forks are scratched to bits and could do with a respray/powdercoat. But if they look good bare then I might just go down that routedude they polish up amazing, just get your self some W&D and scrub down and then get some buffing wheels, once polished you can either lacquer them or just keep on top of them when you come in from a ride

Get some rick-o springs in them and you'll be saving 50%+ of what the ZXR mod would cost you and you'll have a nicer feel.rickyb_dj wrote:dude they polish up amazing, just get your self some W&D and scrub down and then get some buffing wheels, once polished you can either lacquer them or just keep on top of them when you come in from a ride
Unless you spend the money on the ZXR mod and then upgrade the zxr forks

Re: ZXR front end into NC30
unfortunatley i didnt take any pics, when i stripped the paint of, i polished the tops just above the mudguard holders, and they came up really shinny, i also buffed a little bit at the bottom in the interests of science but with my bike being silver i decided black forks would be better. hope you can see from the pics?Hadies wrote:You got pics ricky? i used a wire wheel to get the remainder of the paint off, and then use 3 polishing mops on my bench grinder!
be prepare to get dirty, and where goggles and mask! cant stress that enough.

i agree the VFR forks are the nuts when looked after. since i renewed oil, and seals etc the forks feel good, but still not strong enough to come with our super smooth roads!Neosophist wrote:Get some rick-o springs in them and you'll be saving 50%+ of what the ZXR mod would cost you and you'll have a nicer feel.rickyb_dj wrote:dude they polish up amazing, just get your self some W&D and scrub down and then get some buffing wheels, once polished you can either lacquer them or just keep on top of them when you come in from a ride

Re: ZXR front end into NC30
Cost will vary.
Forks / Yokes / Discs / Wheel / Spindle / Mud Guard / Clip-ons / Fitting kit / yoke mod.
Depends on the condition of your original forks (functional not cosmetic, i've seen immaculate forks that are shagged) and if you've set them up properly.
Good condition ZXR parts will normally cost more than tatty ZXR parts, so if your buying cheap parts they might need refurbing too, which adds to the cost.
If you can get some mint ZXR parts cheap then it might be cheaper to do this.
I prefer the look and feel of the NC30 forks when set up properly (based on later type forks i've ridden)
Rick's look good :)

Re: ZXR front end into NC30
On the first page you can see the list with all the parts I bought including prices, everything was in stunning condition, forks look and perfrom really well, but to be fair it took about 2-3 months to get the parts in my budget.and also usd on nc30 with the standard front end looks odd, with the nc35 front fairing it looks amazin. The front wheel was the only bad bit as the paint is pure shit but i`m going to paint it anyway.Neosophist wrote:Cost will vary.

Good that you managed to get lucky on some decent cheap ZXR parts :)
I might have a ZXR front wheel knocking around but I doubt your after a green one?
