I had a chat with one of the electrical engineers at work, and he said that it operated like a short across the battery, i am not sure what he ment by this, i just said okay
I have just got back from a good ride out, and i have adjuted the actuator and it changes gear perfectly. The home porting i have done has worked a treat, i need to gear it down quite a bit as it is revving out in every gear and just doesn't want to stop pulling.

He probably means as a load, but everything that uses power on the bike is a load. Maybe he was drunk. lol

Yes you might be right with the Drunk thing..
I will give the battery a good testing on the next outing and see how things are looking
