nc30 fork up garde
hi all i am looking to get the fork up garde kit from rick as my seals have gone so might as well up garde while i am doing that, just wanted to know are the forks hard to take apart, cash is a bit tight so i wanted to do the work my self any help welcome

It is easy - get a mate to help whe you pull them apart...it takes some good yanking!!

As mark says, actually pulling them appart is the only hard bit. Good vice (with soft jaw clamps) and a sturdy bench, or a willing mate and you should be fine.CMSMJ1 wrote:It is easy - get a mate to help whe you pull them apart...it takes some good yanking!!

I cant recomend Rick's kits as iv never tried them but iv got graeme frances compression stacks in my nc30 race bike and their amazing, easy to fit and relatively cheep (£85 I think)

Without doubt the best upgrade available for the money

Once all the bolts / oil are out I slide the stanchion as much as possible into the leg and just give it a good pull apart and all the gubbins etc come out along with the fork tube!
Having somone hold the leg might help if your struggling though :) just let them know you are going to be pulling it fairly hard and they should be prepared, otherwise you might just pull it right out of their hands
