Hi Jamie
The restrictors go under the black plastic tops of the carbs. So it's a tank off airbox off Job. Then just a case of slotting in the restrictors to the black plastic tops of the carbs making sure not to lose the small o rings which are under the caps too. Very simple to do. I will Get you some pictures of how to install them this evening. You can have them for £20 including the postage cost.
Cheers
Mike

Is it necessary to remove the carbs or is it possible without?

Possible without, you just need to take the airbox off.

It sortve goes like this, seat off (key on the side), side panels off (bolt at front of each one), tank off (two bolts at back and pull the fuel and vacuum lines off), airbox off (4 clips at front to loosen and a bolt either side), then one carb top off at a time and stick the restrictors in. Make sure you dont lose the little o ring thats on the carb top.
