hope you all had a nice easter break now lets get back too work my clutch is now biting close to the end very little needed to disingage the clutch am i right in thinkin a new cutch is needed or will a fleebay one do if this is the case seen them ranging from 4.99 to 123.99 lever has a slight bit of play but if i recall you are meant to have a little play some of your help here would be great so come on lets see some magic and come up with a easy cheap fix

A full clutch kit (steels and friction plates) is 'only' £85 from Wemoto. Or you could try a new cable first to get some adjustment back

You can try to adjust the biting point - Have a look at the front sprocket cover and remove the big rubber bung. You'll see a grub screw inside a locking nut. Loosen the locking nut. Now thread a screwdriver through a socket and turn the grub screw until you get a resistance, turn back half a smidge and tighten the socket (lock nut) with you fingers keeping the screw in the same place.
If you get the grub screw to tight the bike will have clutch slip at high torque.

See if that helps.

If it doesn't then yes you need to relace the plates but you'll be ok with roughing the steels with emery cloth, if they're not discoloured. You'll also need clutch springs a gasket and new oil. It's better to renew the oil with new wearing plates, soak the plates in oil for 24hours before you fit them.

cheers kayla and the evil one stuck a new clutch cable not so long back so its time to get dirty and ave a look what can go wrong will i be needin a torque wrench if i do what needs torqing goin to take a peek 2morrow wish me luck

A new cable .... hmmm
Is your clutch hard to pull ??? Take the socket cover off and clean the acumilation of chain lube and dirt form inside and arround the clutch slave gear on the inside of the rubber bung.

You should be able to change the plates without a torque wrench ... but it's a very useful tool to have especially for doing the rear spindle nut up when you adjust your chain.

hmmm yes evil now you mention it the clutch is stiff as i do find myself flexin my hand a bit in city traffic will take off the cover 2morrow give it a good clean as i remember when fitting the cable it was rather grubby in there and i'll ave a look at that little screw
