Premium or Super Petrol for NC29???
Hi everyone,
I was just wondering what the opinion is on running these Jap imports on a higher Octaine 99 RON opposed to the 95 RON, apart from the ever increasing cost of course.
I have a Jap car that I run on 99 RON as I know Japan use a better grade of fuel than us Brits.
I am only asking as I have just bought an NC29 and dont want to cause any problems by using a 99 RON (Maybe a silly question, but I thought I would throw it out there)
Thanks everyone.
Wayne

I have run both 92 or 99 and alll was fine. Keep in mind this is Ukraine and sometime 95 mean 92 in reality :)))
But generally I triy to fill tank with 98

My road NC29 has a stage one dynojet kit, race filter and free flow race can and even on higher octane fuel it only gave a 2bhp increase and the same torque curve on the dyno when tested! In my opinion I'd run it on 95 RON and save the change for suspension tweeking - much more effective on these bikes than a mild power gain!!

As far as I know the NC29 runs best on standard unleaded. (Not Shell V-Power etc)

Use the BP or Shell higher octane stuff myself just out of preference. Fifth Gear car show ran a test on three cars and found your wasting your money using it on your average car but high performance cars did show a significant bhp boost, with the Shell stuff the winner.

They are designed to run on 91 so unless you have upped compression or timing then you don't need the higher knock resistance of a higher octane.

my brother had a 2.2 Vtec prelude and it had a difference when you used super compared to "normal" pump unleaded but when i used it on my VFR400R i didn't notice shit !

Re: Premium or Super Petrol for NC29???
Ive been using BP Ultimate for the last wee while to see if I could notice any difference. So far Ive noticed the bike seems to snap crackle and pop a bit more on a closed throttle above 6-7k.
However, when I was out for a wee night time blast a couple of days ago, I was informed by one of my mates I was riding around with that it snap crackles and pops flames every so often
While this is of no real benefit and more a sign of incorrect fueling Id say its worth the extra price lolol

Never really had any benefit of running my old NC30 on super unleaded. The bike seemed to play up occasionally if i constantly used the higher octane, so what i would do is use one out of 5 tanks on Super unleaded the rest just being normal 95RON stuff, thats how i felt my NC30 ran at its best.
