Well, my mate welded the head (stunning job, although I think I am now forever in his debt!) and after taking the opportunity to take off the quietening gears, make the cams adjustable, go total loss, raise the compression and a light port fettle I fired the little baby up this morning.
Yay! Sounds lovely, quite crisp and the sound of the valves hitting the pistons isn't TOO loud.
(that's a joke BTW!).
Guess what? As soon as it had run it for a bit I drained the water out........
