rvf 1 cylinder not firing
Hi
I have had this rvf for a couple of years, last year the rear right cylinder didnt seem to be firing, pull the plug lead of it while its running it made no difference, checked and adjusted valves, calibrated and cleaned the carbs, new plugs. can`t really remember but all that didnt work but for some reason a while after it started working on all 4 again.
been out on it over this winter to keeping running ok but 2 weeks ago i started it and running on 3 again, this time i changed carbs, plugs, leads and coils and still it only runs on 3 and its that same cylinder, all plugs are a normal colour when i remove them. .
Any ideas??
Many thanks
Steve

Re: rvf 1 cylinder not firing
i know this may sound weird but have you check charge rate and battery, my nc30 started working on 3 before and it seemed to be because of faulty reg, Is the cylinder which isnt firing getting a wet plug also ?
Compression on that cyclinder ?
Compression on that cyclinder ?

Is it 8 or 10mm for the adaptors for the compression testers?

Re: rvf 1 cylinder not firing
I had a similar problem recently.
Does the motor chime in at higher revs [6000]
The vacuum hose had a very small split where it fits the head adapter, but not enough to stop the fuel tap supplying fuel.
When I removed it I could see that the hose was so perished that it was stuck on the adapter and it had to be scraped off.
Dave.
