Re: Farewell to my Bike
Good to see there is some interest, that is basically what I wanted to achieve in this thread, I won't be putting any prices in this thread, I have written out a list of prices fo the parts, its just I was getting alot of pms concerning the bike, and I was having to repeat myself alot in the messages this should address the majority of the repeat questions. I have kept all the pms and I will refer back to this thread once I dismantle the bike to offer 1st refusals on items. Various parts have already had multiple enquiries.
Crm I will write up a seperate thread in about a weeks time for the for sale section if that is ok with you, I would like to think that someone could enjoy the bike as it is as there has been alot of effort put into it and it does ride beautifully and basically wants for nothing, but I know that in reality I can't see anyone paying the asking price for the bike complete as I've discovered even with parts that people would like them but when it comes to parting with money it can be a very different story.
Thanks eveyone, all the best Paul.

Put a figure out there for the bike complete, you never know. It would break my will pulling that bike apart with all the time, effort and development gone into it. I wouldnt like to say how many projects have been inspired by your bike.

Amazing looking machine there Riley, truelly a credit to its owner, I can't even begin to imagine how many hours you've spent constructing this unique example of engineering masterpeice.
I myself am sad to see this bike broken, but if this is the case, I'd like to take a dib at R+G's (providing they're un-marked and are the non-drilled version)

Re: Farewell to my Bike
Cheers Tony, I would take £4000 for the bike as is which is consideribly less than the cost of the build, I am aware that this is a sizable amount of money which why I don't expect to find a buyer for the bike complete which is a shame. Although there is no financial reason to sell it other than to fund a Ktm as its just a change I'm after, its not like I've lost my job or got into debt or anything.

Have you tried advertising it in magazines and ebay etc?Riley wrote:Cheers Tony, I would take £4000 for the bike as is which is consideribly less than the cost of the build, I am aware that this is a sizable amount of money which why I don't expect to find a buyer for the bike complete which is a shame. Re: Farewell to my Bike
To be fair thats a totally reasonable price, i wouldnt but if i was selling mine id want more once ive finished it but like you say its finding someone that realises what the bike is worth and their few and far between, but would you really want the bike to go to someone that didnt appriciate it for what it is? it would get negleted and forgoten.Riley wrote:Cheers Tony, I would take £4000 for the bike as is which is consideribly less than the cost of the build, I am aware that this is a sizable amount of money which why I don't expect to find a buyer for the bike complete which is a shame. £4k sounds a lot for a bike this age but i brought one for similar money and to be honest thought it was quite a bargin for the spec. Put some ads out, if it doesnt sell you've lost nothing, if it does then your creation lives on. Gota be worth a go.

Re: Farewell to my Bike
I'll bang up an ad on here but I'm not going to bother with an ebay ad as it will not come to anything as everyone is after something for nothing and even if they do bid they don't turn up. I'm negative aren't I! Miserable old git that I am, afterall I'll be 30 this year!
I have it set in my head that its going now, and as my mate big gay Steve said when he sold one of his Triumphs (car not bike) so long as they give me the money they can drive it into the river Severn if they want. But seriously if I did sell it I would be very disappointed if someone threw it down the road, gave it a wank paint job, added tasteless accessories, rode it anywhere near my house, etc. But on the otherhand if I break it with any luck it would help out some proper enthusiasts and not the parts just ending up on a polished turd of a bike. There is never going to be an easy way to sell on a special, and I don't mean that in respect of dismantling or the actual sale but the letting go.
