VFR400 WENT HERBIE STYLE

Post by rider4life »

My vfr nc30's been sitting for a week until to snow finally cleared. Went for a ride about 16 miles...I was going down a small side road and something sounded really odd from my engine so i pulled over and turned the bike off by the killswitch and the starter motor was turning over....so i thought the starter switch was stuck....i was pressing the starter button but it wasent doing nothing.....I then turned the ignition off to inspect further but even with the ignition off the starter motor was still turning over. :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: ?????????????? :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: .

After leaving it for 5 minutes i turned it on again and it was back to normal. Any Ideas. ? very strange

damnit beat me too it!

Prob the starter solenoid.. that the little metal can with the main fuse in it. They either stick 'on or off'.

Tap it with a screwdriver or similar if it starts doing it again and this should free it off.

If not the solenoid, it could also be the starter switch. Mine stuck on when I first got the bike. Lashings of wd40 sorted it.
