So my reg/rec went the other day, looking at replacments I'm stuck on which one to use; Genuine, pattern or Rick Oliver's Heavy Duty one, has anyone got any pros/cons on these, is there much more beef on Rick Olivers? Cheeers :)

I've never had any dramas with used 2003-4 yam
R6 units.
Have
fitted 3 now and have picked them all up for next to nothing (tight ar$e!). I don't trust honda units at all.
Before (genuine honda - binned it!):

After (
R6):

hi stickshift, is the r6 unit a direct fit for the nc 35?

would have thought not, but would be an easy chop and solder the nc30 connectors on or try to take the spade connectors out of the connector blocks and put the nc30 blocks on

I have a 05 R6 Reg/Rec on mine.. you have to either get the appropraite plug (and change it) or just use some insulated spades

If you go for the R6 reg/rec it has 5 pins
[-]____[-]
[-]_[-]_[-]
if you look at it like that, top left is Red (+) top right is green (-)
The bottom 3 are the yellows (any order)

Yay! Yet another post from me because something else has stuck/broken/vanished/exploded...
My
reg/rec has shuffled off it's mortal coil (just like you said Neo
and I need a replacement pronto. I can get my hands on a 1999
R6 unit but will it do the job?
I guess it won't be a straight swap job, I have the lump hammer and cable ties at the ready (joke) (honest).
