yep smaller number plate is a definate. i had a smaller plate on the blade but my mot'er is a stikler for number plates. but once i have her all legal i wil have a smaller plate, will still be square but definatley smaller.

i agree next to the blade it does look smaller, next to a 600rr it dont look to bad size wise. as in last post i think i am going with movistar colours, i dont want to go with anything to close to the blade, and i dont want anything to dark - a hm plant rep is nice but a bit plain, i want people to look, notice the colours then look again and realise its not a cbr but vfr!!

i did have one person the other day think it was a 600rr with a single sided swing arm, they didnt believe me till they saw the age on the plate.

speaking to my insurance they will add a vfr 400 onto my policy for £40 extra a year on top of the blade - havent told them it has changed slightly!

i am open to any suggestions for paint schemes, i want to try and avoid anything with too much white as my blade is nearly all white and i want something slightly different, if you have any pictures of paint schemes please add the on the thred so i can see.

I wish i'da had my camera with me last Friday... two 95 Urban tigers at the local bike meet and a 2007 blade done in urban tiger!! The 2007 bikes paint job was flawless too, exact match of the original :) Sadly not a 95 tho

iv always liked the older blades - just found the 929 at the right price at the right time.

these were the colours of my blade before i got knocked off:

i could imagine the urban tiger on the new blade would look good have seen some more modern blades with rothmans colours which look good as well i think. im unsure on colours now, i think the blue of the movistar colour will show the lines of the bike where as a all black 'hm plant' rep wont look as good.

I think there a bit over-kill for the street though, so much power and it gets so hot so fast!

I prefer the early (93-95) blades! With carbs before all this electronic trickery :D There probably not as quick as a modern 600's but theres still something about them 15 years later :)

i prefer the more aggressive look of the 954 but when i bought the 929 the 954 was very much brand new and expensive. i dont regret the 929 in anyway - 9 years old 24000 miles and not a foot wrong - though the comment about getting hot quickly is right especially in traffic.

i managed to get the hub / sprocket & everything else off today for a clean / paint where required

one question - the sprocket is a standard 40t but it has a rubber 'guide' around the edge of the sprocket this sits just below where the chain rests. i have never seen this before was this another speciality made just for the vfr? or is it not a original honda part?
