The Mileage Thread

Nothing more to say really, if it's been organised it'll be here.

The Mileage Thread

Post by nige.smith » Sat Feb 09, 2013 3:53 pm

This year I stated that I wanted to do approx 10000 miles on my motorcycles.

I picked up a very low mileage GSXR1000 K6 in January with 3336 miles on the clock as a replacement to my Hypermotard, this will be my serious mileage machine this year

Currently I am about 1400 miles beyond schedule. Following some simple sums I will need to do 833.33 miles a month to realise 10000, so no fecking hope, but i'm going to give it a good go.

Any how, for a bit of fun, thought I would start a thread for people to post up their mileage as the season moves on.

2006 GSXR1000 K6 - 2013 Start - 3336 miles

January - 143
February - 94

2013 Current - 3573

Total 237

1997 Ducati 916 - 2013 Start - 8619 miles (I know - Appallingly low)

January - 0
February - 0

2013 Current - 8619

Total 0

So, 237 miles in total so far this year - Get a grip Smith. Mind you with the steal of a price I got the GSXR for and the value of 916's on the rise, I reckon I am still grossing a -£ for the year per mile.

Now where is the fecking sunshine.

This is gonna be easy for me.

Cost per mile ((Bike cost (assuming I write the cost off) + Parts + running costs) / miles) - £267.50 - :o
and its likeley to increase before it comes down as I keep buying stuff! and not riding them.

No wonder the wife doesnt like the bikes.

Bit of a late joiner here but anyway:

1998 VFR800 Fi - March 30th - 49867 Miles
Jan
Feb } around 700 miles
Mar

1989 VFR400 NC30 K - 2013 start - 67376 Kilometers
Jan 0
Feb 0
Mar 0

Im hoping to at least equal last years total mileage of around 15000 miles covered across both bikes, and with a trip to the IOM, a TD and loads of rideouts planned allready plus my daily commute i think its pretty doable. Should hopefully have the NC30 rebuild finished by the end of april so i can start racking up a few miles on that too.

managed 15 miles on friday on the KSR80 to drop it into work, then took the MC28 over to wales and back managing a whopping 60 miles - running it in.
so far the NSR has done 75 miles tops on a fresh top end. feels sweet too. not too painful having to run it in either.

Rode the B1h 8 miles on Good Friday to Tesco and back to buy Easter eggs. Froze my balls off, got assaulted by several angry housewives with shopping trollies in the Easter egg aisle, stood in the queue for 20 mins to purchase said eggs and all the time had a smile on my face. That annoyed the angry housewives all the more. I then went home and stayed inside in the warm. The eggs were lovely :peace:
