I did a day at brands hatch yesterday on the vfr, and was wondering weather you guys have the same issues.
I was running in the inters group on a wet-damp and drying track, it was frustrating a lot of the day there was one dry line normally being blocked by a guy on a 600.
A lot of the time I found myself riding around the outside of people on the wet part of the track only to be passed again as soon as the road straightened. Is this what you guys experience from track days on 400s?
I am thinking that next time I will go fast group as those guys should hold a bit more corner speed.
Are there many guys on here that ride in the fast group? how do you get on?
On the plus side the bike went really well and the gearing was perfect for the indy 14000 rpm in 6th at the end of the main straight.
It may just be that I need to adjust the way I ride, I have spent the summer riding a 145bhp mille r so being held up in corners has not been such an issue.
constructive flaming welcome !!!

Re: Track day grouping
Only ever done the inters and thats always been the story for me at brands, usaually past the 600's on the exit of druids then they blast past down the home straight, doesnt really bother me....im having fun.
What gearing you running, ive been using 14/42 but now ive got a bit quicker im on half throttle towards the end of the start/finish straight to stop it over revving. 14/40 maybe 41 would work well for me i think.

Re: Track day grouping
I am using 14 41 it was spot on. I found the most frustrating part of the day for me was having to ride odd lines to avoid people mid corner. Riding round people on the outside of clarke/clearways in the wet bit is fun even if they get back infront by the start line.

Re: Track day grouping
fast group will be better for you as the main issue the slower groups have is a lack of corner speed.
Whatever group you are in you'll get blown away down the straights so I have taken to the fast group nowadays...much better and surprisingly I was not the slowest!!
