The skylift only uses the hydraulics for going up and down. When at the required height you lock the lift in place using a steel peg. This means no added stress is on the jack. The thing I like the most about it is I can move the bike anywhere while working on it or if I'm only part way through the job.

If your garage / workshop is large then this feature is fairly academic - lol - mine isn't..

Finally on the homeward stretch, seem to have been living in the garage the last few days, realised after fixing the broken garter ring on the rebound adjuster rod that the rod itself was worn, so added a couple of new fork bolts, currently working through panel by panel giving them a 3 stage polish and couple of coats of favourite wax, always amazes me how well 30 year old panels scrub up. Now have a list of jobs I don’t have time for now that I’ll do over next winter.

Oh how I wish I wasn't a key worker, I reckon I could have refurbed all 5 bikes during lockdown lol
