Tricky business these carbs!
Not sure if its because the manifold rubbers are hard as rock but I had some fun persuading them back in after a semi clean and check.
I found that attaching the rubbers to the carbs first worked better than with the rubbers on the manifolds. Is there a trick or advise somebody could share for future reference please. And yes.....the arrows are pointing in the right direction.

3 Pilot jets were blocked, otherwise they were surprisingly clean inside.
As said, this was a semi carb strip down just to get the bike started, full strip down and rebuild a bit later when the bike is almost ready to hit the track.

Forgot to take an after pic but here is a before

Must say I'm pretty impressed with the quality and the engineering of this bike.
Motor sounds nice too!!

No real special tricks, they're just hard with age.
I put some brand new genuine nc35 inlet rubbers on my nc30, same size and they have a slight taper to guide the carbs in so no chance of the carbs pinching the edge of the rubber. I use some o ring lube on them and the carbs slide in lovely, it's night and day with used rubbers.
Heat helps too, with older rubbers I heat, then apply some rubber friendly lube, then tilt the carbs and get the front bank in first, then the rear should push straight down, it stll requires a bit of force.

It is indeed pptom. I'm happy that it sounds relatively good. Do you have the part # for the 35 rubbers?

Has anybody bought a set of Ali radiators advertised on E-bay?
Are they any good, price seems slightly low for what I would expect?

Hi,
I've had quite a few sets of cheap aftermarket rads over the years and they ain't bad. I've only ever used them on track and never fitted a fan so can't comment on fitment etc on that.

The only real issue I had was with a few top rads and the cap not fitting 100%.
One was fixed by using a genuine cap but the other never really sealed no matter what cap I used. Only suffered this on very hot days and the bike was being thrashed ;)
