Acquired this NC30 and a spares bike recently

Will be a track bike.
Its a little rougher and the crash damage is worse than first anticipated.

Unfortunately they are and the wheel has taken a hit.....but I've got a spare set on the parts bike.

At least you have spares. I’d check the yokes too

This is a bit of a budget project and I was hoping for the motor to be relatively sound (aside from the usual valve and carb issues).

Unfortunately I found this

so the chances of this motor running hot in the past are high.

How do head gaskets etc hold up to overheating on these motors?

Found this "catch bottle thing" on the inside of the fairing next to radiator hole.....amazing what people consider as a fix!

My thoughts exactly, going to swap out as a unit from the parts bike.

The bike had a massive oil leak which I traced to the back of the waterpump.

Pulled the pump and came across this, already has an insert in which has been over tightened and split.
Previous owners answer to the leak was obviously more spanner torque :x

going to attempt to extract insert, ali weld and put a new insert in.

As for bodywork I'm going to chop the bottom of tailpiece (hope I don't upset any purists on here  ) and use the sub-frame that it came with.

For the fairing I'm thinking something similar to the Tyga kit for the MC18 / 21's.
(like the bike second from the left in the image at the top of the page)

This fugly front setup will be the first thing in the bin!!!

Comments welcome on bodywork.
