I'm curious, because for sure Rick did a good job, but my friend Franco is also careful to make the things well. Franco's cover is about 1/4 inch less protruding than stock and has an incredible honda familiy feeling look.

I don't have a garage so all my junk is at a container and I have not been to visit and dig things out. Thanks for the reminder though, as I do need to go and put some handlebars on no9 and drag the old bugger out to be sorted.

I'll see if I an get it sorted :)

Ahh - this is not a Rick Oliver one, it is an original G-force one ;)

So, uses an insert into the original cover. I am that old skool... :rocks:

Never heard of the G-force, and am always curious. Please send images if you can get some.

Well! You are in for a treat....and some very interesting reading.

Mike Norman is/was a member on here and his VFR400s are top of the tree, in my view, for desireability. If I won the lottery...I would be on the phone to him and wishing him all the best...and seeing if there was any chance of getting a few engines made and bikes built for me to play out on!

I read about his over 80hp vfr and all the troubles he faced at in fitting the over bored pistons. I was after 4 pistons and rods from HRC for my vf, but I didn't win the lottery... They would have allowed me to save almost 240 grams on rotational mass (cranckshaft balancing included), not bad. In that configuration, with a perfect balance and blue printing the bike could reach an impressive 66bhp at 13500rpm as per HRC data sheet. The stage 3 Yoshi cams i get inside the engine are a big help for the goal. May be I'll plan to get pistons and rods built by one of the thousands special makers we have here in northern italy that are really skilled.

Hi the project bike is advancing towards it's end, there are several news, but I'm too lazy to take pictures of. The lower radiator fan support is a masterpiece from my friend Franco. He's spending more time for me than for his dughters (don't know even for his wife...) It's now 3D printed and fitted to check it's doing its job right. The prototype is 34 grams.... The aluminum version won't be too far because of the far more extreme design. The tank will be a carbon fiber unit moulded on my prototype by a serbian specialist I know in Serbia. The rear aluminum frame is almost ready and weighs 1258 grams. It's not a super light unit, but works for a street bike with lights and other stuffs and is more or less 1685 grams off the steel one already modified. I'm now in touch with Paul of Tyga to get the triples with pin of my design to fit the VF400F frame. (By the way does someone know the complete rvf400 set weight?) The rear schock spring comes now from YSS, is a linear type and is 13.5kgs rate ( the 3 springs I get for the Honda rs250 shock are new and for sale 50 euros each. The forks need hardest springs, but I will face them with Rinaldi Suspensions to find the right setup for the bike weight distribution and to match the rear shock, another option would be the Matris cartridges. i should take the opportunity to make a tin treatment and a new anodization or new legs... I'll wait for the lottery response... In any case after free tests I'll take some pictures. The bike is at the moment 152,s kgs in the naked version with everything fitted to be street legal, but will be easily under 147kgs after new rear frame tank and triples. About 3,7 Kilograms will be saved on aluminum sprocket carbon chain guard aluminum, titanium bolts, carbon fiber muffler, lighter headers and solo rear fairing, that takes the total weight to about 143,3 kilograms for the street version. Not that bad, The track one add about 3.5 chilograms for the front fairings, but save around 5 kilograms by removing the starting motor, side stand, headlight, rear light, blinkers, key igniter, plate support and a lighter keyless tank cap. reaching a nice 141,8 kilograms. I can save more weight with a new semplified wiring harness, new lighter coils, lighter rear mudguard. The biggest result would be achived with rs250 forks that allow to drop to around 137 kilograms. 60 Hp and 137 kilograms, the NSR250 is not far, if it is... Don't mind if to reach the result I have spent almost 3 times the nsr250 cost... My bike is unique!

The cover is ready, and fits perfectly. I?ll now have it anodized in black colour to keep the oem style. I'm waiting for the right low head profile bolts.

A pleasure to share with all of you. Tomorrow I'll get it back from anodic oxidation. I made it glossy black. The alloy fuel tank will be soon on its way. It will be a two units tank. Part 1 under the tank carbon shell so to leave free space for the airbox ducts and part two under the pilot seat so to centralize the masses, but won't be part of the rear frame. I have to calculate weights to decide about it. Coils will be as per all the vfr racing bikes attached to the cranck case.
Cheers

It's ready. I accept preorders, fits vf400f and vf500f to mount Suzuki gsxr1000 k5 stator and may be other from gsxr series.
