James' NC30 rebuild

You may have seen my welcome thread when I first picked up my current project. It looks like it was looked after at some point and its had some money spent on it although seems its been off the road for a while and is looking very much worse for wear.

Its obviously been dropped both sides as the damage is obvious, and the kit is badly fitted but all will change (fingers crossed!)
Started stripping it down yesterday. Got most of the small bits off, just waiting on Rick Oliver for the sockets to remove everything else. Its my first bike although pretty handy with a spanner and there is a weath of knowledge to be had on here

Got most of the parts needed, picked up a Koso dash fairly cheap as the wiring was a mess so a good excuse as will be rewiring alot anyway. Need to look into speed sensors as not keen on the magnet sensors. Want something more oe.

Ask koso for a analoge to digital speed converter, allows you to take the speed pick from the OE speed drive

Bit of an update, been really busy with work and still waiting for sockets to drop the engine!!

Although recieved a few bits to tidy up the exhausts. One slight issue is gonna need the end caps replacing as they dont fit too well now.

Carbon tubes, these are gorgeous. Front calipers painted.

Hope to remove the engine this week and do all the gaskets, lap the valves and check the shims. New clutch and then refit next week.

Passed my Mod 1 last week have Mod 2 booked for end of July so would like to have the bike ready to go soon after that.

Great start to the rebuild; Carbon tubes look sexy as, and i'd also love to know what the calipers were painted with ?

Thanks for the postive comment, the brakes were painted with this stuff.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0442587345 Just finished the rear one and there is prob enough to do the spring and then start on another bike!! Ive used the E-tech stuff on my car before and that worked well too.

Recieved all but the 41mm socket from R.O today so tomorrow the engine will be dropped to rebuild that.

Thanks for the heads-up on that; now about to order some....

Finish on yours looks great.....i take it that is the finish from using a brush,or did you try spraying yours ?

Yer brushed on the paint levels well, Its not perfect but its good enough for a brake caliper :)
