Project 8<4<2<1

Post by BillingCBR » Tue May 17, 2011 1:32 pm

8 cylinders, 4 Y pieces, 2 exhaust outlets and one bike.

I've taken on a pair of tatty NC30's for a friend of a friend, I'll be making one good bike out of them hopefully. One's a K and ones an L model, both with the appropriate suspension I'll be getting pics tomorrow.

F***WFA:
Originally started out as the donor bike, stolen recovered, the better condition of the 2.
Black and dark red Fireblade-esque paint job
Sansei half system
K model, with the proper suspension, front will probably be used as the chrome is better.

H***ANG:
Mates first bike, now very run down and only really fit for spares, now the donor bike
Tatty Type 5 paint (similar to the type 2 Seed scheme but with the silver and red swapped)
cut stock system
restricted
L model, front forks could be salvaged, but easier to use K model forks. Rear shock will be used if any good.
After market nosecone, small vent under the screen and the r/h headlight has provision for a cover of some sort, possibly silhouette?

I'll be going to start on it tonight or tomorrow before work, so will get pics then, it'll be slow progress, but aim to have it MOT ready inside 6 weeks.

Should be a pretty easy build mate.

No4 had far less to start with & No5 looked worse than both put together.

I know you work shit hours but really, with a week off work, it should be basically done ;)

Cheers guys,

I was thinking to myself a earlier that I'm a little bit like Norfolks very own force-v4  I reckon you're right, if I had all the bits I need sat there I'd be fine, I just need a couple of bits first :) I'm putting all of my spare time into helping build a workshop and the SH50 racebike, so this is on the back burner lol.

I dunno what it is, I've posted up to see if it's anything worth having, even if it is, it isn't my bike to say yay or nay :peace:

Wasn't meant to edit them out in the first post, I just couldn't see the bikes at the time so didn't know the numbers lol I will be editing them out at some point I expect

The carbs in WFA seem to be good, it's running 114 mains, and I was very surprised to find that the float bowls are all in the right place, and the screws are largely unchewed!

I'm in need of the engine removal tool, as I want to drop ANG's to clean it up, does anyone have the Honda part number for it please? Or even better a Honda one I can borrow (would use a cut down socket, but the torque settings were designed to be enforced with the proper tool, and would rather do it properly)
