I know its a piss take, clare sends most of my stuff through her work which is all garantee'd next day and they charge well over the top for the service, hardly any of the stuff i send gets there next day. Courier companys are on the rob big time.

Took it out for a ride today, low down the fueling is intermitantly crap with the occasional stutter in the midrange, i still need to work on that carb me thinks. WOT is great and no issues there at all but i think i may drop back down to standard gearing, its currently +2 on the rear and hitting the limiter in 6th is far to easy.

Pic from today

And NC30 carbs off, HRC tray fitted ready for the open RVF carbs that should be arriving soon

Looks fantastic mate, can't wait to see it properly finished, it'll run as good as it looks  How does the HRC air tray attach? Just thinking there's no bolt points, so it looks like it'll rattle around :S

No chance of it rattling around, the scoop is cable tied to the top of the rad and the carbs pretty much sit down on the tray.

Eureka ka ka ka ka ka ka  open RVF carbs arrived this morning (thanks james) fitted them and once she fired i could just tell by the note of the exhausts that things were right. there was no idle adjustment on the carbs but even cold it will idle at just over 1k, anything below 1500 rpm on the old carbs would stall even when warm.

I still cant get my head round why the old carbs wouldnt play ball when they come directly off a running bike that run like a dream, i can only think it was down to the 2-3 months of them being in storage and the various rubbers had gone off. Just goes to show you can clean and setup a set of carbs many times and even when everything looks fine doesnt mean it is.

So just need to fix the sticky float on my set of RVF carbs then i shall set them up exaxctly the same as this set

Thanks to dave, neo and the rest of you that put up with my constant ramblings over these carbs :peace:

Ricky: Yes mate although ive a feeling you will want it before i get round to replacing it, need to save some pennys. Dont forget that you will need RVF headlights and most likey the front stay aswell, and possibly the mid panels.
