simmo's bikes :) zxr getting a FULL rebuild for next season!

using the zxr400 master cylinder, plenty good enough especially with these new calipers,

i havn't bought any banjo's yet, gonna try using the ones that fit the zxr calipers

no it aint, i haven't took the brake lines off yet.

Simmo have you tested the brakes as yet I use a similar setup on my ZXR after the stock ones went all useless following a few laps of cadwell anyhow I've had a few troubles with the setup causing vibration under braking using the spacer setup you are !

Thoughts had a search for a thread on here but no joy!

Vibration aside make sure the bike doesnt land on you when it rotates around the front wheel the first time you yank on the lever they are a vast improvement on stock stroppers!

ive not tested the brakes yet.
ive got 2 options for bolts, either the spacers on the standard honda bolts OR use some gsxr rear disk bolts.

im fitting them this weekend hopefully, but wont be riding the bike till mid feb.

by the way, which pads are you using in these calipers? and would you reccommend them?

also which master cylinder are you using?

Pads are EBC I use them in everything, just the standard range though in the ZXR as its my 'everyday' bike used for everthing road and the odd trackday but its my pet so never gets too much hassle on track, I'm therefore probably not the best man to speak with regarding pads.

The stock ZXR master cylinder seems to work fine no excess travel or wooden feel, my old kwak calipers were pretty tired so I used to get spongy brakes real fast buying these were cheaper than rebuilding them hence swapping them over.

The Std Nissin pads are kickass in these calipers.

I have used Nissin, Armstrong and EBC - all HH and the NIssin were the best..the EBC are good adn the Armstrong are just pants..but were free with my new rotors..

when i buy some new leathers im gonna get some all black ones, then i will look cool on any bike

as for building, im gonna fit the calipers this weekend, get them bled. erm.... fit a new bracket for the seat, and then im gonna book it in at RJS Superbike (My brothers shop) for some dyno time, to set up my quickshifter, and to 'fine tune' the carbs, they work fine as are, but they can be made even better.
and the dymag bearings need replacing.

ive ordered my stickers, so will look sweeeeet when they are fitted.

not gonna fit the fairing till i take it to dyno, cos the bike is at the back of mums garage at the moment, so dont want to get it damaged if i can help it.

seat unit is being reparied now, so should be picking up the rest of the bodywork early feb.
