Yeah I know how annoying leaks can be with these small carbs, so figured it's best to just buy the new and real Macoys.cbr400rrn wrote:Good choiceGimly56 wrote:Have bitten the bullet and purchased a new set of carb inlet rubbers from Japan......

Haven't done a hell of a lot on this bike to be fair but toiled away on fixing some wiring on the main harness today.
I haven't given up yet!

Re: Smurf Blue NC29 in NZ
Clutch gave out on my NC23 so I did some more work on this blue beast....
I think I finally have the wiring sorted and I hooked up the coils after checking the wiring schematic a hundred times.
Carb inlet rubbers are on and air box fitted, attached a new choke cable but the slide seems to be a bit sticky on the carbs?? Sprayed some WD40 on it and let it soak overnight so hopefully it's got a bit more movement today.
Anyway...today is the day of reckoning for 'Smurf'.....fresh fuel added and a new battery......today I am going to try to start her up!!!!!!!!!!

Smurf fired into life and was extremely loud, as it doesn't have an end can on it!!!!cbr400rrn wrote:And did it?????????

I lost motivation on the 23....have drained the oil and removed the clutch basket yet again. Will bite the bullet next payday and purchase a new clutch.

Re: Smurf Blue NC29 in NZ
Fuel pumps faulty. Randomly pumped a few times then died completely.
I probably should've guessed something was up when the box of bits that came with the bike included a new fuel cut relay and a partly dismantled fuel pump!!
