I'm stuck as I need a new clutch cover gasket, ordered one a week ago from DSS but they don't open until the 2nd and I go home on the 1st... ball ache. So as it stands I'm awaiting a clutch cover gasket and I need to fettle the new rad to see if I can get it to fit.
Or you can come and take mine off my bike and give me the new on when it arrived from dss
It don't matter if i'm fixin' it or ridin' it.

Re: Dan's NC30
SHE LIVES!
There's a leak or two, hard to tell. I think the oil pressure switch is leaking, need to investigate but ran out of daylight!
Couldn't bump or jump it. Got my dad to run with me and push down on the subframe as the wheel kept locking up, after about 20-30m of running she finally fired up and stayed up! Then the oil pressure light came on because I had underfilled her.
Hopefully get the leak found and fixed, hoping it's just the switch but there seemed to be a couple of leaks >.<
Finally!

Re: Dan's NC30
All fairings back on, everything bolted back together and took her for a blast :)
I have noticed the bike seems a bit smokey on first fire up, I know it'll be a bit smokey anyway but it seemed a bit more... although on reflection I think some of it may have been burning oil that I'd spilt and that had found it's way on to hot surfaces like the exhaust pipes.
Leathers on (they still fit!) and rode her up and down the estate, then briefly up and down a local industrial road. The can is mental. Has a real nice pop to it when downshifting and a nice growl when opening up, but I think it may be a bit too loud, the plan at the moment is to potentially sell it and buy a carbon can - but this will have to wait until I have cash.
The upside down gears threw me a bit, every time I came to a stop I had to think about it - neutral is also a little harder to find now but I think that's just because I'm not used to it. Was massively tempted to take it for a long ride, but she's ran out of tax and the V5 etc is in Oxford
Above and beyond all: Getting back on to my motorbike and gently riding up and down the road felt incredible, I was instantly reminded of the feelings that made me fall in love with biking in the first place. It made me realise how much I've missed riding - and I thought I missed it a lot anyway!
I have to go back to Oxford now, but hopefully when I get a free weekend in the coming couple of months I can come back up and ride her down to my new place, will definitely have to sort the oil + coolant leak at some point though, they're not major but they're still there.
Cheers for reading :)

Re: Dan's NC30
MOT PASSED!
Advisories:
Front brake binding slightly
Suspension linkage has play
Exhaust loud (LOL)
According to a mate of mine who works a few units down, there was much laughter and joy when the MOT tester took it in the yard to give it a rev
So, there are the advisories above to deal with, and these are known faults I'm working on:
New chain and sprockets will be needed eventually
Oil leak from oil pressure sensor (I think)
Coolant leak from water pump (need new O ring)
Exhaust leak from somewhere (but I might live with it instead of risking another snapped bolt)
Hoping next week I can go back home with the missus (with her driving) and bring her to my new flat FINALLY! Can't wait. The oil leak and coolant leak shouldn't be enough to cause problems on the journey back (100 miles), but I'll stick some in a couple of bottles just in case. I think I'll take her for a spin round Nottingham before embarking to Banbury just to make sure no goblins are hiding away!
Will have to lay her up and chuck a blanket on once in Banbury, money dictates that the new parts won't be here for a while

Re: Dan's NC30
Re the leaking waterpump. So long as its just leaking from the cover then all you'll need will be a new o-ring. If it's coming from the little hole on the underside of the pump body you'll need another pump as the internal seal isn't replaceable.
Too spensiff!!!

Re: Dan's NC30
I'm pretty certain it's just the O ring, the last one I fitted seemed too big to go in the groove, had to just tighten up and poke it in so it's not sat right, need to source another!
