GSXR 400 SP Shock
I'm putting my bike back together now and have noticed the damper rod on the rear shock is badly rusted. I could take it to have the rod chromed and reground then serviced. This will cost loads of money so was thinking of changing the shock for a GSXR 600 K7 unit I'v read on here that it fits with some small mods. As this is a much newer unit with more modern technology, do these bikes handle better than the original shock?

Is the K7 shock the same length? So the ride height stays the same?Andy wrote:Hey,

Re: GSXR 400 SP Shock
@Andy - What settings do you put the shock at? i got a k7 750 rear shock on mine, I have SP forks on front and i feel that i have them set-up to an ok setting. But back end feels bit too stiff for my liking, getting throw out my seat allot on bumpy roads.
@guitarman - mine went straight on however i do seem to have a clearance issue at the bottom, however i have had it fitted for nearly two years now and its not broke yet
