I'm trying to find out what other suzuki engine parts may be compatible with the GSXR400 GK71F.
The top end layout appears to be very similar to the GK71B but the bottom end or at least the engine covers are different.
Looking to replace the threaded plug from the RH side cover which allows me to turn the engine over as the thread is damaged and also fit a thermostat as it has been removed and lost by a previous owner.
Are any Bandit, Across or GSX four cylinder engines based on this one?

Re: GK71F Parts compatability
Hi, I've got a GK71B and used to get engine parts from BAT motorcyles, but they went bust.
I think you should still be able to get parts from Robinsons Foundry in Kent tel 01227454366.
They are well worth trying as most engine parts are still available in Japan but plastics and body panels are generally obsolete.
Please post how you get on as I haven't phoned them for a while.

Re: GK71F Parts compatability
I'm in australia and don't expect to have any luck finding parts locally.
My cams and followers are worn. The engine runs fine but is a bit rattly. I've adjusted the valve clearances back down to the minimum to see if that helps. I gave the part numbers to suzuki Australia and the cams and followers are no longer available but expensive even if they were available. Preparing the bike for historic racing so will see how I go.
