Different resistors ran on the dyno may show otherwise but i'd be suprised as i dont think the cdi's are that clever.
Would have thought a simple advance curve.
Even if the resistor allows the bike to over rev i'd take it easy as the motor will go pop.
The last time i ran my bike on the dyno it made power to 14200 rpm and then dropped off very quickly, if you over rev the bike there's no power, your quicker changing at 14000 rpm.
Very sound advice and its exactly what i see on my dyno sheet.
Over rev is pointless unless your running fruity cams and tuned motors.

Re: GK76A Speed Limiter - again!!

Excuse me reviving a well worn topic but I am prepping a GSXR400 GK76A for my daughter to rookie race 2014 season with BEMSEE. I am well into electronics and good with with spanners so do everything myself but the whole thread left me with one question. I understand the addition of the 1K5 resistor to the green'yellow lead and I also understand the mods to the gear switch board if necessary but I get the impression the whole thread applies to the two connector CDI unit. My CDI is a single 12 pin connector type. Does the 1K5 mod work, or do I need to do the gear switch mod or is it completely different?
Thanks in advance for any helpful comments.

We are choosing to use the GSXR400 as we have four of them and three spare engines!
