GK73A Brakes

Post by go4ablast » Thu May 16, 2019 2:45 pm

Afternoon All,
I've just purchased a GK73A and it runs quite well but the front brakes are very weak. It has braded hoses and the pads look ok.
How can the front brakes be upgraded on this bike?

Many Thanks,
Jake

"weak" brakes sounds like a worn out master cylinder but check the pads and rotors for contamination. You are aware that some pads (HH) have to warm up to work so the first time you use them they would be weak. Get them working before you consider an upgrade...they should be more than adequate.

Post a picture of the calipers you have. The 4 piston Tokico's are excellent even by todays standards.
An upgrade is the import Bandit 400 Tokico's which have 2 different size of pistons. Put some good discs and HH pads/lines/fluid and you'll throw yourself over the bars then.
