Compatible front brake lever

Post by KiwiBiker » Tue Jan 24, 2017 8:52 am

I broke my front brake lever on my GK76a today whilst bleeding the front brakes, rather it happen in the workshop than at the end of the main straight!
Going to be hard to track one down here in New Zealand probably so can any one tell me what other Suzukis share the same adjustable front brake lever. Are the GK71 levers the same?
Thanks for any assistance, I'm in a bit of a fix here as I have just sold the bike... :|

GSXR750 of similar era, and iirc zxr400 are same. If it does fit, make sure the brake FULLY releases when you let go of the lever.

Thanks for the tips guys, I actually managed to find one on a wreckers web site that he claims is brand new for reasonable money. Not sure how true the brand new bit will be but just happy to be able to present bike to new owner with all the important bits intact. Mind you I havent got it fitted yet..

Yes, with feelings of remorse tho. The main issue is I dont have space for it. Ironically the money from the sale will go towards a new workshop I'm building.
I already have the SV and from a racing point of view I'm loving it. My lap times have dropped significantly and my confidence has increased with the tighter handling. I'm finding it a lot easier to work on too. eg rear shock removal is a 5 minute breeze of a job.
Not bagging the GSXR tho, one just has to make allowances for its age.

Can't beat a bigger workshop, good to hear you are getting on well with the SV too. Quite often hear a bit of 400 vs SV banter, I have never been on one so couldn't possibly comment!
My mate has one though and swears it's all the bike he needs.

I take your point about the age factor of the 400, I have just put up a post looking for parts, decent stuff is harder to find, lots of shagged bits being offered for silly money on the auction sites.

If it's easier to work on and you are quicker then it's all good. I really must try one sometime.

All the best with it.
