Hello,
I just picked up a 1988 Suzuki GSXR400 sp model. I need a thermostat. Does anyone here know the part number and where I can get one?
Thanks

Re: 1988 GSXR400 Thermostat #?
I have read a few posts here that are saying that other bike thermostats are compatible and maybe more desirable because of higher temp opening. Can anyone give me info on the thermostat they have used?

Sure I used cbr6 f3 one but some of the gsxr models have a bypass hole drilled in the stat so just check if you have an extra hole in the mounting plate, if so just drill the new stat to match.

Tried to put up a link to old post but cant get it to work But was suggested to fit a suzuki sv 650 or 1000 stat as these open at 88 degrees which is what i now have fitted to mine viewtopic.php?f=53&t=31585&p=248372#p248372
You need to throw away the standard thermostat and fit a later type fitted to SV650 / 1000. Suzuki part number is 17670-06G50 , temperature is 88 deg and is a straight swap. This is what I run in my GK76A and much improves the running of the bike, as the standard thermostat is too cold.
