RHD lights
Hi all GSXRists,
I have just moved with my GK76a to Madeira in Portugal... The customs is a pig! and it looks like the bike won't conform without RHD front lights... as the Japanese also drive on the left does anyone know if RHD lights were made for this bike?
I'm not sure where to start looking!
Will of course try to slip the man with the stamp a couple of Euro in desperation.
cheers,
James

Re: RHD lights
My feeling is that they're ok for a holiday but for proper import approval the lights need to conform to local tests.
I'll ride down to the tester tomorrow and find out for sure...
It's very exciting as it's my first ride. Been rebuilding for a year and then decided to move here. Just hoping that bureaucracy doesn't bugger my plans.

Re: RHD lights
Hope they are easy as I don't think they imported the late model to Europe,
believe they imported earlier models to Sweden.

Re: RHD lights
I may be wrong but I think you will find the lights don't dip left or right but just dip in straight beam so should be ok .had same problem with mine on a mot couple of years ago. I took mine back for a retest without the plastic cover in front of the lights and then the mot tester agreed with me that they dip straight.

Re: RHD lights
Hi All,
Unfortunately this got a little more complicated - I need a certificate of conformity! I'm guessing that whoever imported the bike into the UK must have sorted this but it didn't come with the bike. Does anyone have one for a 1991 GK76A?
I also imported a Triumph Speed Triple and for this I simply called Triumph who emailed it straight away for free.
I went to a Suzuki dealer here and am still waiting a week later.
Any experience on this?
thanks,
James

Re: RHD lights
Hi All,
Finally sorted. They didn't even look at the lights in the end but I had to wait 3 weeks for a Suzuki stamp and pay 140 euro!
The bike is running nicely though, perfect for the amazing twisty roads here.
