Loud Clicking sound????

I have a loud clicking coming from what seems like the generator, the noise some times stops when the brake is applied i.e. the brake light coming on. Also if you jump the bike off the mains then the clciking goes mad. Any ideas what it might be before i start taking it to pieces???

I had that a few times on my bike in the past.

turned out i hadn't turned my fuel on

im sooooo blonde sometimes

i have a loud clicking noise on my zxr, turned out to be the front sprocket was knackered :S might be worth a look

obviously it does it even when the bike is stationary........

that rules out anything like the wheels etc.

it sounds like it is something electrical,try pin pointing exactly where it is coming from.........are you positive it is from the alternator?
