Want a bigger motor?
Its common knowledge that the FZR6 motor fits into the FZR4 with little work, but after talking to a guy over in Japan thats mad into ZXR/ZRX's he tells me that over there a common transplant for the ZXR is a FZR1000 exup motor! Anyone know about this megga power upgrade?

Re: Want a bigger motor?
Hi Zimm,
Ive little info as we wre talking about his F3 zxr and his big bore/stroke zrx that uses zzr6 parts, when i asked why he never put a complete zzr motor in he thought i was on about the zxr and said it would require loads of work but understood that the fzr exup was the puppy! so i will ask for any info thats available.
Chris.

Re: Want a bigger motor?
There was a ZXR400 with a fireblade engine in it that look pretty stock, I remember reading up on it but can't seem to find the page now.

Re: Want a bigger motor?
The FZR400 3TJ had a Blade 918 engine in maybe it was that that you read.
The FZR1000 is a heavy lump mind. Somebody put it in the FZR400 frame, the gearing was to short but and it broke the headstock landing wheelies.

Re: Want a bigger motor?
With the FZR's you don't really gain much from the 600 to the 1000. A Thundercat engine will give about 85-90 ish hp (the airbox is the difficult bit) and is only 10kg heavier than the 400.
If the there's a 600 engine that's similar to 400 then you might be able to build the two together. You can do it with the FZR's using the pistons and top end from the 600 you end up with a 560. The capity is only half the story cos it has a shorter stroke than the 600

Bit late but it was deffiantly a ZXR that had the fireblade engine in. Frame broke and needed some re-welding if I remember rightly.Evilchicken0 wrote:The FZR400 3TJ had a Blade 918 engine in maybe it was that that you read.
