Hi everyone,
I'm a new member.
Re 1988 FZR400 1WG: While removing the clutch basket to see what was going on, ( push rod would not disengage , the rod and ball bearing looked worn ) i managed to break one of the mounting posts that holds one of the springs, off the clutch basket. ( part # 1WG16371-01, Boss , Clutch) . Don't ask. I was rushing and messed it up.
Will a 1992 3TJ clutch basket fit as a replacement? at the moment i can find a 1992 3TJ complete clutch to drop in. But i can't find a 1988 clutch basket 1WG. I'm trying to get it fixed before the next race round.
2. Alternatively, i should take the opportunity to upgrade the clutch - with a slipper clutch and/or barnett SRK kit?.
Looking for feedback. Any info would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks.

The 3TJ parts catalogue says that:

the 3TJ1 use the 1WG basket, clutch boss and the 1WG pressure plate (37F-16351-00)
the 3TJ2 onwards uses the better 2TK basket, clutch boss and pressure plate - but also uses 2TK transmission axles.

What year did the 3TJ show up? The 3TJ1 is the RR, the later models are RR-SP. The 2TK clutch set held an extra clutch disc if I remembered correctly, so is an upgrade to the 1WG. Dunno if it fits the 1WG axle shaft, unfortunately...
