3EN1 piston differences from 1WG or 2TK? 3TJ?
So coming back from a very long hiatus...after a fellow had suffered a crash and now we are in partial debt, nothing going forward with my bike.
I rechecked the engine and there is a possibility I will need a new piston or at the very least, a new piston ring set and a hone. The bike is a 3EN1 and it has the stock engine.
When I looked at the 3EN2 parts catalog I am worried that the 3EN1 might have model-specific pistons because of the -01 revision on the part number. Assuming the 3EN1 does use a specific piston...is it possible to use 1WG parts or I will have to end up having to search for a 3EN1 piston or plan on having custom ones made?
This will be a big make or break on this bike, if the engine is practically toast then I will just keep it until I can spend on it. Maybe after all the pandemic as well.
Hope someone knows something about this and thank you for any responses!

Are you looking at part # 1WG-11631-01? That's the standard piston number and mates with ring set 1WG-11610-00.
The part number revisions were more than likely due to a change in supplier or manufacturing facility.

I saw the 3EN2 parts book and it says 3EN-11631-01-00. So I am worried thinking that the 3EN1 uses 3EN-11631-00-00 and it may not be exchangeable to the 1WG part
The piston rings were all the same across all FZR400 models so that is an easy thing. But trying to score pistons here will be a very hard task...

There are Chinese pistons on ebay bu no idea what they're like.
You could take a punt on a set of 3he 600 pistons or just put a 600 engine in it.

If your interested I have a set of new pistons & rings that I am not using. I bought the pistons from Japan and the rings from the UK. Piston # 1WG-11638-01, rings # 1WG-11610-40. If I could figure how to post a pic I would. These items are rare.... It took me a long time to find them, I would take $800 cad I think that's about 460 Pounds.

You are correct re pistons, they are different. All 3 have the same bore but all have different pin heights.
You will need the 2TK. **NOT the 1WG or 3TJ.
